Rohit Sharma is set to complete 12 years in Twenty20 internationals on September 19, 2019 (Thursday). But the “hitman” of Indian cricket failed to live up to his nickname after getting out for run-a-ball 12 on the eve of completing 12 years as “Hitman” since his debut in T20Is in 2007. The 32-year-old made his T20I debut against England during the inaugural edition of the T20I World Cup in South Africa and has since then played 97 Twenty20 internationals for India plundering 2434 runs, which includes four hundreds and 17 half-centuries. But on the eve of completing 12 years in the shortest format of cricket Rohit failed, leading to fans trolling him. India vs South Africa 2nd T20I Highlights.

The Indian vice-captain, however, showed glimpses of his “hitman” identity by smashing South Africa’s debutant fast bowler Anrich Nortje for two sixes in the space of three deliveries in what was only the second over of India’s chase. But Rohit did not last long. He was caught plumb in front of the wicket by Andile Phehlukwayo in the final delivery of the fourth over for only 12 runs, leaving fans disappointed. South Africa Vs India, Highlights And Cricket Score 2nd T20I Match.

The Real Hitman

Rohit Forever

Rohit interestingly did not bat in his debut T20I match but smashed a fifty in the second game which was also the first time he batted in a Twenty20 international for India. The game was against South Africa in Durban where Rohit smashed 50 runs from 40 deliveries, which comprised of five fours and two mammoth sixes. But unlike hie maiden T20I fifty, Rohit did not have a successful outing against South Africa on the eve of completing 12 years in T20I cricket.
