Yesterday, Ramakant Achrekar Sir passed away in Mumbai due to a prolonged illness. Sachin Tendulkar and Ajit Agarkar both went to his house as soon as they got to know about the news. Achrekar sir was laid to rest a while ago in Mumbai and the Master Blaster not only attended his final rites but also was one of the pall-bearers at the funeral. Even the budding school cricketers paid tributes to the late coach. The funeral was attended by Raj Thackeray, Vinod Kambli. Achrekar sir was laid to rest at a crematory in Dadar. Even the Indian cricket team wore a black band on the Day 1 of the 4th Test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in order to mourn the death of the coach. The BCCI shared a picture of the team wearing black bands. “As a mark of respect to the demise of Mr.Ramakant Achrekar, the team is wearing black armbands today. #TeamIndia,” read the caption of the snap.
