Shahid Afridi has been in the eye of the storm ever since he tweeted about the violence in Kashmir. In the tweet, he asked the United Nations to intervene and take steps against India after the Indian Army killed a few militants in the valley. With this statement, Shahid Afridi, who retired last year remained in the news. Post this, Gautam Gambhir was the first one to slam Afridi followed by Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Kapil Dev, Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma.

Now during an interview with a journalist in Pakistan Afridi spoke about the tweet. With this, he also expressed his disinterest in playing in India’s cash-rich league the IPL. He said, “Shahid Afridi "Even if they call me, I won't go to the IPL. My PSL is the biggest and there will be a time that it leaves the IPL behind. I am enjoying the PSL, I don't have any need for the IPL. I'm not interested in it and never was" #Cricket.”

Now, this time Afridi got himself mocked by the netizens.  The Internet users trolled the Pakistani cricketer mercilessly and made a joke out of the statement.

This netizen wrote, “Kaha se aate hai aise log😑 He's telling that he won't play IPL, But who's calling him for IPL?! Bhai tu aana bhi mat IPL khelne, Ye baccho ki league Nahi hai! (sic).”

“Now they will be jobless for next two months because of IPL ; as next two months are exclusively alloted to IPL. One more thing virat kohli's contract in IPL $25 million whole budget of psl $20 millions 😂😂 (sic),” read this tweet.

This netizen reminded him of his statement when Afridi had requested the Indians to include Pakistanis in the tournament.

This Pakistani Internet user asked the fans to ignore Afridi’s statement.

“PSL leaves IPL behind..  Afridi gone mad or what.  Weird statement. PSL is a shit tournament only retired useless overseas players participate.  IPL real deal (sic),” read the post.

This netizen reminded Afridi about the empty stands in PSL.

“Bulayga kon yaar India me thode din pehle taarif kar raha tha India ki Ab tweet ka response aaya toh bum jal gai h (sic),” read the post.

Another Internet user said, “Pakis doing like "Angoor khate hai" Who calling them in IPL,, ur PSL never come near to IPL. Best tourney IPL (sic).”

“If he was never interested in the IPL why did he play in the first edition of the IPL then. 😂😂 (sic),” read another post.

Shahid Afridi played the first edition of the IPL from Deccan Chargers which is now known as Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Pakistani batsman did not have a memorable season that year but once again Afridi chose to blamed VVS Laxman for the team not doing well that season. He said, “Laxman's captaincy was one of the reasons for the team not doing well in the first year. One can see the difference that Gilchrist brought to the team as captain.” However, Laxman slammed Afridi in return and said he does not have ethics. Post  2008, no Pakistani player has been featured in the IPL.
