Talking about the series, Virat Kohli and men will be looking to keep their winning momentum. The Indian team won T20I series against Sri Lanka by 2-1. India will play five T20I matches against New Zealand, three ODIS and a couple of matches. The last time the two sides met each other was during the Cricket World Cup 2019 in England. The Men in Blue were defeated by 17 runs and this led their ouster from the mega event.

Ahead of the game, the Indian skipper spoke about the chock-a-block schedule of the Indian cricket team and said that it is difficult to adapt to the conditions immediately. “I am sure these things will be taken into a consideration a lot more in the future … it is what it is, and you've got to do the best you can to recover and to get used to the timings and just get on the park again. That's international cricket for you today. It's back to back,” said Kohli.
