Yesterday at the Rose Bowl Cricket Stadium, Southampton Stadium India registered a six-wicket victory against South Africa in their opening tie of the World Cup 2019. It was an all-round performance from the team that helped them get the victory. Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with a couple of early wickets the game as he got rid of the openers quite early in the game and dented the opponents. Bumrah got the wicket of his Mumbai Indians’ teammate Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla. If one may recall, it was Bumrah who had comforted De Kock after the wicket-keeper conceded four byes during finals of the Indian Premier League 2019 which was held between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Sehwag revisited the moment and shared the picture of the same on social media. While lauding Bumrah the former Indian cricketer wrote, “23 days ago some mercy and amazing gesture for DeKock, but today no mercy . He also lauded Rohit Sharma for his unbeaten knock of 122 runs.

With Jasprit Bumrah snapping a couple of wickets, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also got two. Yuzvendra Chahal scalped four wickets by giving away 51 runs. As a result, South Africa put up a score of 227 runs on the board. India achieved the target in 47.3 overs.
