The 44-year-old is continuing his recovery from a persistent calf strain sustained during pre-season training, marking his sixth consecutive missed game of the 2026 campaign. The CSK management, led by head coach Stephen Fleming, has opted for a cautious approach to Dhoni's rehabilitation.

While the former captain was seen batting with authority and hitting sixes during Friday’s net session in Hyderabad, he did not participate in intensive wicket-keeping drills.
