India had a mixed day at Asian Games 2018 on Day 6; while several medal prospects disappointed with their performances, while the ones who weren’t in the limelight, won medals in different sports events. In another disappointment for Indian sports’ fans, ace gymnast Dipa Karmakar’s dismal performance at 2018 Asian Games, saw her ending on the 5th position.

The star gymnast had a disappointing outing at Jakarta Palembang Games 2018, as she managed to score 12.500 in the Final. The low score prevented her to rise to a podium finish, here, at Asian Games, today.

The Women’s Balance Beam event saw China’s Chen Yile win the Gold medal as she scored 14.600 points. On the second position was North Korea's Kim Su Jong as she scored 13.400 points, whereas the third-placed athlete was Chinese too, as Zhang Jin stood third by scoring 13.325 points.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dipa had not competed in the women's gymnastics artistic team final due to an injury on her right knee, which she picked up during qualification training.

India is currently on the 7th spot in the latest medal tally and current country-wise standings at Asian Games 2018.
