Panaji, May 16: Indian Super League (ISL) outfit FC Goa on Thursday announced that Ahmed Jahouh had agreed to one-year contract extension. The new contract will see the Moroccan midfielder dawn the orange of FC Goa again for the 2019-20 season. In two seasons, Jahouh has carved out a niche of being one of the best passers of the ball India has ever seen. Topping the passing charts in each of the last 2 seasons, the Moroccan has also been among the top when it comes to tackles and interceptions.

With him at the helm of affairs in midfield, the Gaurs qualified for playoffs in the last two seasons, finishing runners-up in the past one. Speaking to fcgoa.in, the Moroccan said: "I have loved playing in Goa and under Sergio Lobera. Looking back, I would say coming to India, especially Goa, was one of the best decisions I have made. Away from the game, the fans have been fantastic. Expressing his happiness at Jahouh's stay, FC Goa President Akshay Tandon told fcgoa.in, "His performances speak for itself. Jahouh is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in the country and we are ecstatic at having been able to extend his stay for another season."
