Interestingly, Juventus have dominated the Italian league in recent years and Ronaldo’s presence is further expected to strengthen their supremacy. Apparently, Ronaldo’s deal with Juventus features in the top 10 most expensive transfers in the history of football.

Evidently, Brazil’s Neymar and Portugal’s Ronaldo are the only players to feature twice on the above list twice. Neymar’s first entry in the top 10 was during the year 2013 when he moved to Barcelona from Santos FC. He was later snapped up by PSG for a record salary that puts him on top the list. The then 24-year-old Ronaldo become the most expensive footballer in history (at that time) after United agreed to accept Real’s €94m (£80m) offer in 2009.
