It's that time of the week when we look at week's best goals. We had the likes of Messi, Ronaldo scoring but goal of the week belonged to another genius. Liverpool benefited hugely from Manchester City slipping at St James Park as they went ten clear of Pep Guardiola’s men. It looks like Leicester City will be their title rivals this season rather than the Etihad based side though realistically the English championship is Liverpool’s to lose now. In Italy, Juventus dropped points against struggling Sassuolo at home which helped Inter Milan leapfrog them to the top. Barcelona and Real Madrid are level on points in Spain, and with El Clasico fast approaching, it makes up for a perfect setting. A look at our top goals of the week from Europe.

Lionel Messi vs Atletico Madrid

Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi scored one of his trademark goals to help defeat Atletico Madrid late in the contest. Messi was involved in a one-two with Luis Suarez at the edge of the box which was followed by a left foot curling effort that gave a diving Jan Oblak no chance. Lionel Messi Keeps Barcelona on Top as Real Madrid Pile On Pressure.

Jonjo Shelvey vs Manchester City

As a Liverpool player, Jonjo Shelvey did not have much fan-following, but his strike against Manchester City must have helped him win some admirers at Merseyside. A special effort that rocketed into the corner, Shelvey’s goal got Newcastle United a 2-2 draw against Manchester City. Newcastle United 2-2 Manchester City, Premier League 2019-20 Result: Jonjo Shelvey Stunner Put Champions Back in Title Race.

Jeremie Boga vs Juventus

Sassuolo midfielder Jeremie Boga’s dink to give his side the lead at the Allianz arena against Juventus was textbook finishing at its peak. It left Gianluigi Buffon look like some goalkeeper playing in the third division, and the timing of the goal was also crucial since it came at a time the hosts looked like running away with the contest. Cristiano Ronaldo Ends Goal Drought to Rescue Point for Juventus in 2-2 Serie A Draw Against Sassuolo.

Jack Grealish vs Manchester United

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish opened the scoring against Manchester United with a curling effort from an almost impossible angle. He used Andreas Pereira as a decoy and wrapped his right foot around the ball which found the top corner. Kevin De Bruyne vs Newcastle United

Our top goal of the week comes from St James Park where Keven De Bruyne chest control and volley gave the defending champions a 2-1 lead which they could not hold on to till the end. The Belgian international’s effort went in like a bullet as the opposition defenders stood helpless in the Newcastle box.

With midweek games coming up in England, the coming week promises a lot of action on the football pitch with plenty of good goals to come.
