Neeraj Chopra, India’s star javelin-thrower, clinched the gold medal at the Sotteville Athletics meet in France. Neeraj had earlier won the gold medal at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 as well. The 20-year-old, who hails from Panipat, threw 85.17 metres to bag the gold in Sotteville-les-Rouen of the Normandy region. The second best throw came from Moldova's Andrian Mardare, who threw a distance of 81.48m to take the silver. Neeraj’s performance was brilliant as he did not falter in even a single attempt and completed each of his rounds. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who is quite active on social networking sites, was quick to congratulate Neeraj for his gold-winning effort.
