New Delhi, November 7: Amazon has announced the beta launch of Kindle Translate, a new AI-powered translation tool for Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) authors. The service aims to make it simpler for authors to reach a global audience by translating their eBooks into multiple languages. Authors can expand the reach of their work beyond their native language, connecting with readers from different regions with the Kindle Translate service.

Kindle Translate enables authors to connect with wider audiences and potentially increase their earnings. Through the KDP portal, authors can handle their translations, choose target languages, set a price, and publish their translated eBooks. The service supports translations from English to Spanish, as well as from German to English. All translated content undergoes an automatic “accuracy” check before it is published. Authors will have the option to either preview the translations first or automatically publish them immediately.

In a blog post, Amazon said, "This launch builds on Amazon KDP’s ongoing commitment to supporting independent authors in reaching global audiences and increasing their earning potential.” eBooks translated with the Kindle Translate service will be offered for purchase and download from the Amazon store. Each translated title will feature a label indicating it was created using Kindle Translate. KDP author Kristen Painter said, "Foreign translations open doors to new readers around the world and give my titles a second life. It’s one of the smartest ways to expand both reach and revenue." Translated eBooks can be enrolled in KDP Select and will be available through Kindle Unlimited for readers.
