Cupertino, May 4: The Apple WWDC 2024 conference is scheduled from June 10 to June 14, 2024. Ahead of the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, many people have been anticipating the big announcements of the upcoming iOS 18 update, AI-powered Siri, and new changes to the company's iPad series. Although the company has not confirmed anything, the expectations and leaks suggest Apple plans to announce "something big" in a few weeks.

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently confirmed that the upcoming iOS 18 will launch with a significant focus on artificial intelligence. Apple recently introduced its OpenELM, a set of LLMs that could perform on-device without needing cloud-based computing. All these rumours and leaks about the iPad Pro with M4 chipset, Siri, iOS 18 and more suggest that Apple is taking significant steps to score its top position and beat the competition. Bhavish Aggarwal’s Krutrim AI Launches Mobile App, Opens Cloud Infrastructure for Developers.

What to Expect in Apple WWDC 2024?

According to many reports, we might see iOS 18 deliver multiple on-device AI features primarily related to RCS support, Siri getting the ability to analyse and summarise texts with the Messages app, answering complex queries and more. According to a report by Indian Express, Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, 2024 will also introduce improvements in shortcut integration to automate complex tasks. It highlighted that Apple had been working on a new Safari feature called "Intelligent Search" to help iPhone owners summarise web pages through in-house AI LLMs called "Ajax". Google Deepfake Policy: Company Announces New Update to 'Inappropriate Content' Policy To Ban Advertisers From Promoting Deepfake Pornography; Know Deadline, Effective Date and Other Details.

The report shared that Ajax will use on-device processing to help generate responses. However, it is also expected to use cloud servers to give answers to complex requests, like image generation. Apple had been talking with Microsoft and OpenAI, probably for the partnership to introduce Gemini AI chatbot or ChatGPT into its following devices. It is too soon to say anything, as Apple silently acquired over 30 AI startups last year, so it could be working on its chatbot, assistant, or other service.
