Google’s new generation smartphones finally broke covers at Google’s Hardware event 2018 that took place on Tuesday in New York. The American tech giant not only introduced the third generation Pixel devices but also rolled out host of new products at the event such as Google Home Hub and Pixel Slate tablet. Pitted against the arch rivals such as Apple iPhone XS and Samsung Note 9, Google’s new Pixel devices are offered in two versions – Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Powered by Qualcomm’s flagship chipset – Snapdragon 845 SoC, both Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3 phones run latest version of Android 9.0 Pie. The new Pixel 3 line-up is offered in three attractive colour variants – Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink. Alongside the devices, the company also introduced wireless charging accessory called Pixel Stand, which is priced at Rs 6,900. It will be available from November 1. The pre-orders for the new Pixel 3 devices will be opening tomorrow for the domestic market. However, the smartphone will go on sale from November onwards. Aesthetically, the new Pixel devices carries conventional design language that was seen on the previous Pixel phones. However, the bigger Pixel 3 XL phone features a notched display, which is a QHD+ touchscreen with ultra-thin bezels and large screen-to-body ratios. Fitted with a Snapdragon 845 chipset, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of ROM. Featuring wireless charging, the Pixel 3 XL get a bigger 3430 mAh battery whereas Pixel 3 has a 2915 mAh battery.

For photography, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL continues to sport a single lens at the rear which is a 12.2MP lens with wider f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera module also supports portrait mode. At the front, the phones gets a dual 8MP camera setup with super wide secondary camera.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will continue to opt for a single lens camera system on the rear. There will be a 12.2MP singe rear camera with 1.4µm pixels and a wider f/1.8 aperture. Despite a single rear camera system, the phones do offer a Portrait Mode using software-driven bokeh blur. Flip the phone, and you will notice a dual 8MP front camera system, with a super-wide secondary front camera.

The price for the new Google Pixel 3 starts from Rs 71,000 for the entry level variant with 64GB ROM whereas the 128GB version of Pixel 3 costs Rs 80,000. On the other hand, the 64GB version of the bigger Pixel 3 XL will retail at Rs 83,000 and Rs 92,000 respectively.
