Users can locate the Pixel Tag through the Find Hub app and make it play a sound when it is nearby. The device also supports alerts for items that have been left behind.
UWB And Bluetooth 6.0 Enable Precision Tracking
A key feature of the Pixel Tag is its support for two different technologies for precision finding.
UWB can provide both distance and directional information on compatible devices, allowing users to get more detailed guidance when searching for a misplaced item. Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding can also provide precise distance measurements on supported phones, although it does not offer the same directional guidance as UWB. According to The Verge, UWB precision tracking is supported on compatible Pro Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 generation onward. Bluetooth Channel Sounding is supported on Pixel 10 and newer devices.
Pixel Watch 4 and later models can also be used to locate the tracker. Google is additionally integrating the Pixel Tag with Gemini, allowing compatible Pixel devices to trigger the tag's speaker using voice commands.
Compact Design And Replaceable Battery
The Pixel Tag has an elongated design rather than the circular shape used by Apple's AirTag. It weighs around 12 grams and comes in a single greyish 'Fog' finish.
The tracker is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance and includes a speaker for nearby searches. It also has a replaceable CR2032 coin-cell battery that Google says can last for more than a year.
Like the AirTag, the Pixel Tag does not include a built-in hook or clip. Users will therefore need an accessory to attach it to items such as luggage or keyrings.

Google will sell the Pixel Tag for USD 29 individually, while a four-pack will cost USD 99. The tracker will be available from November 11, 2026.
The pricing puts Google's tracker directly against Apple's AirTag 2, which is also priced at USD 29 for a single unit and USD 99 for a four-pack.
