Google, a leading tech giant is keeping a record of your movements, even if you don't wish it to track it. According to the report from the Associated Press investigation, Google Services on Android as well as iPhone devices record the location data even if the privacy setting are prevented from doing so. The search giant is upfront about seeking permission for using location information, and application like Google Maps asks permission to access location for navigation. Once agreed for recording location over time, the platform will display the history timeline showing your daily movements.

Storing minute by minute travels includes Police have used privacy risks and the same for determining the location of the suspects. Last year, Police scanned the locations of the suspects for finding devices near a murder scene.

So, the company is letting you pause location setting called Location History. The tech giant has mentioned that this will prevent it from remembering where the user has been. The support page of Google mentions that “You can turn off Location History at any time. However, this doesn't seem to be true. With Location History paused, some Google apps automatically store time-stamped location data without seeking permissions from the user.
