Ever since Reliance Jio entered into telecomm space, the company seems to be ticking all the right boxes at the right time. After making an impact with Jio, Mukesh Ambani-led Company is now aiming for the broadband space with its upcoming Jio GigaFiber, which is believed to be the fastest broadband network in the country. There have been several leaks related to Jio GigaFiber claiming that the plans could start as low as Rs 600 along with various smart services. Currently, the Reliance Jio GigaFiber is available under Preview offer wherein the user has to pay a security deposit of Rs 4,500 and the user can get the connection for free. Well, this is not the case anymore. Jio reportedly has made couple of changes to the plans and offers.

As per the media reports, it is believed that Reliance Jio has decreased the security deposit by Rs 2,000 for its connection in several cities, bringing down the price to Rs 2,500. It is also reported that many subscribers have got the connection with an amount of Rs 2,500 which is almost half of what the customers got previously. With a new connection, the customers are still getting a router and all the things that were received by the customers previously.

Well, there is a catch to it. In comparison to previous plan, the Rs 2,500 plan offers a single band router. The previous Rs 4,500 plan came with a dual-band router that supported 2.4GHz as well as 5GHz of bandwidth. Moreover, the new plan offered reduced network speed of up to 50Mbps which is almost the half of what the previous plan offered (100Mbps).

The subscribers will also get access to voice services on GigaFiber wherein they will be able to make calls through the service. It is also reported that Rs 2500 plan offers JioTV app. Despite of lower speed and lesser price, the subscribers will get 1,100 GB of data each month.

With such rumours doing rounds in the market, there is no official confirmation from the company about the new subscription plan. Jio seems to be eyeing the urban and semi-urban markets by making GigaFiber more accessible to them with a reduced security deposit of Rs 2,500.
