Microsoft is aggressively restructuring its cybersecurity division as it seeks to pivot towards AI-powered security solutions, a move marked by leadership changes, engineering consolidation, and the reduction of hundreds of roles. As per a report by TOI, Gallot recently outlined the necessity of this shift in an internal memo, stating that the industry is being reimagined from the ground up. Leadership Refresh and Internal Stability
Gallot has moved swiftly to refresh the division's leadership, replacing several senior executives who previously reported to Charlie Bell. Bell, who was originally tasked with building the dedicated security group in 2022, has transitioned into a new engineering quality role.
