POCO, a sub-brand of Xiaomi launched POCO F1 smartphone on Wednesday which runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS with a skin on top, which is being referred as MIUI for Poco. MIUI for Poco is a regular MIUI featuring few new additions such as POCO launcher, stock Android like quick setting tiles and others. The company confirmed at the launch of Poco F1 that POCO Launcher in Beta version will be available on Play store starting August 29. However, the Poco launcher has been spotted on the internet ahead of its scheduled rollout on Google Play Store, reported FoneArena. The main underline of POCO launcher is the inclusion of app drawer which several users wished should have arrived quite earlier. Finally, the MIUI users can also swipe up from bottom to open app drawer. It also comes with a search bar for searching keyword, apps or even apps in the Mi app store. Likewise Nova launcher and any other third party launcher, Poco launcher also features quick shortcuts for various action on app icon by long pressing it in the app drawer or home screen. Poco launcher will also allow the users to hide the apps and group them depending on the categories. However, this feature is not available on the leaked version of the Poco launcher. Moreover, the leaked version of the launcher is supported by MIUI-powered smartphones only.
As Poco launcher gets installed as an update to MIUI system launcher, it replaces the current version of MIUI. So, it is advised to backup MIUI system launcher data before installing Poco launcher.
