US President Donald Trump has pledged a USD 5,000 (approximately INR 4,75,000) "Trump dividend" payment to every adult American citizen if the Republican Party, also known as the Grand Old Party (GOP), retains control of both chambers of Congress in the November 3 midterm elections. The President announced the proposal during his keynote address at the special midterm Republican National Committee convention in Dallas, Texas.

The 'Trump Dividend' Proposal

Positioning the payout as a direct result of ongoing national economic strength, Trump asserted that the funds would be contingent on a Republican victory in both the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. "If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them, because of our tremendous economic success, like in history we've never had anything like what's happening, but because of our tremendous strength and success economically, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for USD 5,000," Trump told the convention crowd. US President Donald Trump Slams Dallas Mavericks-LA Lakers Luka Doncic Deal as 'Worst Trade in Sports History'.

The President specified that the distributed money would be required to be spent within the United States. However, the proposal did not outline the specific legislative mechanism or funding source for the initiative, which carries a theoretical total cost exceeding USD 1 trillion.

Midterm Campaign Strategy and Ballot Appeal

With the midterms carrying significant political challenges for the sitting administration, Trump sought to place himself at the center of the Republican campaign to retain congressional majorities. Although the President is not personally running for office in November, he urged voters to approach the ballot box as if he were on the ticket. "When I'm on the ballot, Republicans always do very well. We won the presidency three times," Trump said.

"I'm asking you to pretend that I'm on the ballot… just one more time. Because if we lose, you're going to lose your border, you're going to lose your tax cuts, you're going to lose your safety and security..." he added. As part of an intensive campaign schedule planned for the final weeks leading up to election day, Trump announced that he will travel extensively to battleground states and appear at rallies for Republican congressional and senatorial candidates. Donald Trump Says Iran War To End After US Midterm Elections.

Foreign Policy and Domestic Remarks

During his wide-ranging address, the President addressed international policy and regional security matters, issuing a direct warning regarding Iran. "I would advise Iran not to get cute because we will have to hit them very hard. We have no choice, right? We have no choice. Does anybody here think that Iran should have a nuclear weapon?" Trump said. He also touched on domestic themes, warning supporters about the perceived threat of left-wing political movements and offering a lighthearted suggestion regarding geographic nomenclature, proposing that the neighbouring state of New Mexico be renamed "New America."
