Monaghan, December 3: A man stabbed a convicted sex offender to death in bloody attack in Monaghan before being knocked down by a car and killed as he escaped, police have said. Investigators say lorry driver Kieran Hamill, 37, stabbed Chris Mooney, 60, to death and shouted "he had it coming" when he was disturbed as he stabbed Chris Mooney to death in victim’s home in Ireland.

Mirror reported that the alarm was raised after Mooney’s brother arrived at the house in Broomfield, near Castleblayney and noticed his sibling was covered in blood. Once there, the relative was verbally abused and pushed by a man who then ran from the house. The suspect is understood to have made reference about the killing before fleeing on foot. Athena Strand, Who Disappeared From Her Texas Home, Found Dead, Accused FedEx Driver in Custody

Mooney was pronounced dead at the scene and had been stabbed multiple times. His home had also been ransacked.

Investigators believe Hamill ran away from the scene of the murder but was struck by a car as he walked on a quiet road back towards Culloville, just over the border in Co Armagh. Though police have said that Hamill's death was an accident and that he didn't intentionally jump in front of the vehicle, further investigation into the accident is underway. Video: Texas Attorney Tries to Shoot Ex-Girlfriend at Austin Bar, Pinned Down by Customers
