An Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza killed a family of four-including two young children-early Thursday morning, according to local medical officials. The strike targeted a residential home in the town of Beit Lahiya around 2:00 a.m. local time, according to hospital authorities and neighbors. Medics at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City identified the victims as a husband, his wife, and their two daughters, aged 8 and 12.

Local residents reported that the family was sleeping when the strike occurred. Emergency responders recovered the bodies from the rubble later in the morning.The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a statement acknowledging the strike, stating that forces targeted and eliminated a  militant who had participated in attacks against Israeli troops. The incident comes amid ongoing violence across the region. Palestinian news agencies also reported a separate military action in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, which left three people injured, including two children.
