Patna, August 5: In one of the tragic news of today, a bus travelling from Muzzarpur to Siliguri caught fire after it hit Purnia bus divider. One person died and thirteen have been injured after the bus met with an accident near Purnia bus stand in Bihar, according to an ANI update. However, as per other local reports, the number of casualties is expected to rise and police are trying to ascertain the number of people who were inside the bus. Most of the passengers were sleeping when the accident took place. Few tried to escape by breaking the window glass, while people on top berth have reportedly not been able to escape the raging flames.

Last week, a passenger bus heading towards Bihar overturned after hitting the divider on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, leaving 12 people hospitalised with severe injuries, officials said. There were 45 passengers on the bus and they had started their journey from Kashmere Gate in Delhi and it was bound for Sitamarhi in Bihar.
