Algeria [Algiers] April 11 (ANI): At least 200 people are feared to have died after a military aircraft crashed down near an airport on Wednesday at Boufarik in Algeria's capital Algiers.

The Iliouchine-type plane, which was transporting a dozen of army troops and equipment, was headed for Bechar in southwestern Algeria, according to the local media.

As per the reports, a total of 14 ambulances and ten fire engines were dispatched to the location.

Further, all the roads leading to the airport were closed to enable the emergency services to carry out the rescue process.

According to the military officials, all the army men onboard were killed.

The cause of the incident has not been reported yet. (ANI)
