New Delhi, May 16 (PTI) An animal protection group has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for information about dog abuse in Haryana, leading to punishment for the culprits.
The reward will be given for information leading to identification, arrest and conviction of persons responsible for abusing a dog, said a statement of Humane Society International (India) said.
“We request citizens to discourage animal cruelty and report any abusive behaviour against animals," said N G Jayasimha, managing director of HSI, India.
Section 11(1) of the Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act states that it is a punishable offence to abuse or inflict pain to animals in any form.
