New Delhi, Oct 11 (PTI) Bangladesh will be sending a strong buyer delegation to India during the upcoming Indus Food-II to be held in January next year in Greater Noida, the Department of Commerce said Thursday.
The bilateral trade between the countries has touched USD 9 billion.
There is immense scope for increasing food and beverages exports from India to Bangladesh, it said in a statement.
Presently, Bangladesh's total import of food and beverages from the world is USD 5,016.4 million, out of which India is fifth in ranking with exports worth USD 332.4 million.
Fresh fruits going from India to Bangladesh include mangoes, grapes, pomegranates and apples.
"Among other products, there is still great scope for added export of dried, shelled chickpeas, fresh or chilled onions and shallots, food preparations, cumin seeds, fresh grapes," it added.
