Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 22: Mr. Yoshiyuki Kato, CEO and Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India, reaffirmed Panasonic's long-term commitment to India at the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026, highlighting the company's strong Make in India ecosystem and its vision to deepen its contribution to Uttar Pradesh.

At the CXO roundtable, Mr. Kato highlighted Uttar Pradesh as an important part of Panasonic's future growth journey in India. The company sees significant opportunities to expand its contribution to the state across distribution, services, and smart infrastructure.

Panasonic's commitment to India is backed by a strong local manufacturing base. The company operates seven manufacturing facilities across the country, producing hundreds of millions of electrical products annually for domestic and international markets. Products manufactured in India are exported to South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

"As Uttar Pradesh strengthens its manufacturing ecosystem, Panasonic will continue to evaluate opportunities that could support its operations across central and eastern India over the long term," said Yoshiyuki Kato, CEO and Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India.

Sustainability and green transformation are also central to Panasonic's long-term vision. Through Panasonic GREEN IMPACT, the company is committed to achieving net-zero CO₂ emissions across all its operating companies globally by FY2030.

This commitment is reflected in Panasonic's operations in India. All seven of the company's manufacturing facilities have functional rooftop solar power systems, with a combined installed capacity of 5.2 MW. In FY2025-26, these systems contributed to a reduction of approximately 5,500 tonnes of CO₂.

Panasonic also sees opportunities to contribute to India's future infrastructure needs through its capabilities across electrical solutions, solar solutions, smart energy systems, and intelligent infrastructure, particularly as the country continues to invest in buildings, factories, and urban development.

Panasonic entered India in 1972 and has been present in the country for over five decades. Since the acquisition of Anchor in 2007, the company has continued to invest in local manufacturing, talent development, and job creation.

With India central to Panasonic's future, Mr. Kato's participation at the UP-Japan Investment Meet underscored the company's intent to strengthen its partnership with Uttar Pradesh and contribute to its next phase of growth.
