New Delhi [India], Oct 11 (ANI): Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday met with Home Minister Rajnath singh and expressed gratitude for role played by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) during the cyclone Titli in Odisha.

Cyclone Titli made landfall at Odisha's Gopalpur on Thursday morning. Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds lashed the town in the morning.

Heeding to the forecast and warnings regarding cyclone Titli, 30 teams of NDRF were pressed into action in different districts of the state.

Hours after the landfall of cyclone Titli in the state of Odisha, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met with Home Minister Rajnath Singh today and thanked him for the role played by NDRF during operations in Odisha for Cyclone Titli.

The Home Minister also assured Pradhan of continued support from Centre in disaster management, rehabilitation and reconstruction needs of Odisha.

A day before the landfall of cyclone Titli in Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan had asserted that authorities were on alert and the crisis will be handled efficiently.

He had said, "Government and authorities are on alert. It is the need of the hour for everyone to come forward. I am confident that this crisis will be handled in a proper way with everyone's support." (ANI)
