Entertainment News | Nepal-Tibet Border Disaster: Actor Manasi Parekh Says She Was at Flood-hit Spot Five Days Ago

New Delhi [India], August 27 (ANI): Actress Manasi Parekh, who is currently in China, shared a worrying update after a flash flood hit Gyirong Port in Tibet, saying that she had been at the same spot just five days ago.

Manasi had planned to visit Gyirong Port again, but the area has now been submerged following the flash flood.

Sharing a video of the affected area on Instagram, the actress recalled her recent visit and said, "This is what happened. We were supposed to be here tomorrow morning."

In another Instagram story, Manasi shared how she had been welcomed at the same place just days ago. "I was literally welcomed at this spot five days ago. So warmly! And now the whole place is submerged," she wrote.

The actress also spoke about the uncertainty of life and said she was praying for those affected by the floods. "Life is uncertain, but what has happened is absolutely heartbreaking. We are constantly praying for the people affected by this tragedy. By God's Grace, we are safe in China and Isha Foundation is doing its best to get us back home as well as find those who are in the midst of the floods. Pls keep praying for everyone's well-being @sadhguru," she wrote on her Instagram account.

The flash floods have caused major damage in several parts of Nepal, with the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers among the affected areas.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 178 Indian nationals are among those reported missing following the floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha districts. A total of 644 travellers, including 127 Nepali nationals, were initially reported missing from the affected areas.

The Nepal Tourism Board said the information is being checked with travel agencies, guides, local authorities and security agencies. Citizens from other countries have also been reported missing, including 53 from Ukraine, 35 from Australia and 25 from Canada.

The floods have damaged several roads and bridges, while rescue and relief work is underway. Nepal's security forces are using helicopters and ground teams to reach affected areas. Medical help, temporary shelters, food, water and medicines are also being provided to people affected by the floods. (ANI)
