Brussels [Belgium], May 16 (ANI): The European Union (EU) has taken its first step to help salvage the Iran nuclear deal after the United States exit.
Iran's foreign minister Mohammed Javad Zarif reportedly met EU, British, French and German counterparts in Brussels on Tuesday (local time).
In a 90-minute meeting, Zarif hinted that the deal is on the right track.
Further, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini insisted that the European institutions are committed to saving the Iran nuclear deal.
Mogherini further said the EU cannot provide a legal and economic guarantee to Iran but will ensure steady investment flow in the coming weeks.
She is scheduled to meet the European Union again next week.
On May 9, United States President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal while calling it unfair and warned of severe consequences if Iran resumes its nuclear programme. (ANI)
