Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], Dec 1 (ANI): Spain hockey team captain Miguel Delas on Saturday was ruled out for the rest of the men's Hockey World Cup due to a shoulder injury.
The 34-year-old, who is one of the most experienced players of his side with over 200 international appearances, suffered the injury during Spain's 3-4 defeat against Olympic champions Argentina in their Pool A game at the Kalinga Stadium earlier on Thursday.
After seeking approval from the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Spain have replaced Delas with Ricardo Sanchez, who has 51 caps.
Spain are slated to meet France in their Pool A game on December 3. (ANI)
