New Delhi, July 14: In a shocking incident, a patient was shot dead in a Delhi hospital on Sunday evening, said police. The incident took place at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital at 4:20 pm.

"A PCR call was received from ward No 24 of GTB Hospital at around 4:20 pm, in which information was given that someone shot dead a patient and went away. On receiving the information, our team came here and found that the person who died was named Riyazuddin and he was a resident of Khajuri Khas," Vishnu Sharma, Additional DCP Shahdara, told ANI. Delhi Shocker: Woman Shot at While Sleeping in Her House at Janata Mazdoor Colony, Probe Underway.

"Five empty bullet cases were found. Whether there was any rivalry or not, is being investigated. The probe to identify the accused by searching CCTVs is underway," he added. Meanwhile, the wife of the deceased told ANI that her husband was shot dead as a result of a mistaken identity. "There was a person admitted to another ward, his wife used to tell me that her husband was in danger and some people could come to kill him. The shooters had come to kill him but they shot my husband," she added.
