Sankhali (Goa) [India], July 28 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday urged students to look beyond textbooks, embrace innovation and nurture curiosity while addressing the 'Mann Ki Baat to Viksit Bharat - Empowering Swayampurna Goa Through Knowledge and Innovation' programme, jointly organised by the Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sankhali, and Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali.
According to a release, he stated that interacting with young minds is always inspiring. He also encouraged students to look beyond textbooks, embrace innovation, nurture curiosity, and draw inspiration from the stories of ordinary Indians achieving extraordinary feats through Mann Ki Baat.

Further, he added that every episode reminds us that nation-building is driven by the collective efforts of students, scientists, entrepreneurs, farmers, artists, innovators, and countless citizens working with dedication and purpose.
The Chief Minister urged the youth to dream bigger, seize the opportunities created through initiatives like Startup Goa, Swayampurna Goa, skill development programmes, and India's rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem. He highlighted that with knowledge, determination, and a spirit of service, every student has the potential to contribute towards a Viksit Goa and a Viksit Bharat.

Meanwhile, earlier on July 10, Pramod Sawant had announced that welfare schemes are being aggressively targeted to ensure they reach the doorstep of every individual involved in the state's traditional fishing sector.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a special event organised by the Department of Fisheries to commemorate National Fisheries Day, which saw a turnout of over a thousand fish farmers, aquaculture entrepreneurs, and traditional fishermen.
"We organised a program today to celebrate National Fisheries Day on behalf of the Government of Goa's Fisheries Department. Joining me was the Fisheries Minister, Nilkanth Halarnkar, along with over a thousand fish farmers, including traditional fishermen who venture into the sea for fishing, who all gathered here today," Chief Minister Sawant said.
