India News | Indian Army's Outreach Campaign 'Delhi To Dweep 2.0' Reaches 1,900 Students Across Andaman Islands

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 2 (ANI): The Indian Army's Zonal Recruiting Office in Chennai conducted over 19 outreach programmes across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the 'Delhi To Dweep 2.0' initiative.

The initiative reached more than 1,900 students and promoted Agniveer and permanent entry opportunities.

The sessions highlighted discipline, leadership, and service, generating strong interest among island youth to join the Army.

In a post on X, the official handle of the Directorate General of Recruiting, Indian Army shared, "Reaching Every Corner, Inspiring Every Aspirant. Under the ongoing Army Recruitment 2027 drive, Zonal Recruiting Office Chennai conducted an extensive outreach campaign across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as part of Delhi To Dweep 2.0. More than 19 outreach programmes, including motivational lectures, school and college visits, and interactive sessions, were organised to connect with youth in even the most remote areas."

"The initiative successfully reached over 1,900 students, spreading awareness about Agniveer and permanent entry opportunities in the Indian Army. Sessions focused on discipline, leadership, and service, while also providing detailed guidance on eligibility, recruitment procedures, and career benefits. The enthusiastic response reflected a strong aspiration among island youth to don the Olive Green and serve the Nation with pride," the post reads.

Earlier on Saturday, Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, witnessed the Integrated Air Defence Firepower at Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur, Odisha.

In a post on X, the Army said that the COAS complimented the personnel for their dedication towards the nation's defence while hoping for them to continue dominating in the battlespace.

"General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, witnessed the Integrated Air Defence Firepower at Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur. The exercise showcased seamless synergy of multifarious Air Defence weapon systems operating in a networked environment, effectively validating the detection-to-engagement cycle against new-age hybrid aerial threats. The COAS complimented the Air Defence Warriors for their relentless commitment towards strengthening India's defence and exhorted them to continue striving for excellence and dominance in the evolving battlespace," the public relations wing of the Indian Army wrote in the post.
