New Delhi [India], July 16 (ANI): Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday said the country will host the first-ever India Mining Week, which will provide a platform for stakeholders from the mining sector, investors and technology companies.

Addressing reporters in Delhi, Reddy said the Government of India would, for the first time, bring together all stakeholders in the mining sector, including companies looking to make fresh investments and firms working on new technologies.

"India Mining Week is about to be held in India for the very first time. All stakeholders of the mining sector in India, those who want to invest afresh and new technology companies - all of them will be given a platform by the Government of India for the very first time," he said.

Highlighting reforms undertaken in the sector, the Union Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reforms had been introduced in the coal and mining sector over the last 12 years.

He said India was producing one billion tonnes of coal for the first time and added that the government had launched a Rs 34,000-crore mission for critical minerals. He further said a new mission for coal gasification had also been initiated.

Reddy said mining companies from across the world, as well as mining nations, would be invited to participate in the event.

Earlier, he formally announced the India Mining Week 2026, the country's largest conference-cum-exhibition for the mining and minerals sector, scheduled to be held from November 15 - 17 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre.

Marking the official curtain-raiser of the summit, Union Minister Reddy, along with Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, unveiled the summit logo and summit brochure.

As per the Ministry of Coal and Mines, the three-day summit will be organised under the theme "Stronger Resources, Smarter Mining, Sustainable Tomorrow", reflecting India's vision of building a technologically advanced, globally competitive and environmentally responsible mining sector.

India Mining Week 2026 will serve as a premier platform for dialogue, collaboration and business engagement across the entire mining value chain. (ANI)
