Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) [India], July 28 (ANI): The YSR Congress Party on Tuesday launched a statewide agitation against the irregularities in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process, with large-scale protests being organised simultaneously across Andhra Pradesh under the party's Student and Youth Wings.
Demonstrations were held in Vijayawada, Nellore, Tirupati, Nandyal and several other districts, while police prevented a proposed rally in Narasannapeta, leading to tense scenes.
The party is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him morally responsible for the alleged Mega DSC irregularities. Protesters also sought a CBI investigation into the DSC recruitment process, alleging question paper leaks, irregular Sports Quota appointments and denial of opportunities to deserving candidates.
The agitation further highlighted the NEET paper leak controversy, pending fee reimbursement dues running into thousands of crores, and the coalition government's failure to fulfil its promise of unemployment allowance.

The official spokesperson of YSRCP, Karthik Yellapragada, said, "Today, YSRCP is conducting statewide protests and rallies on the recent DSC irregularities that we have seen in the state. Well, lakhs of people have appeared for the exam, where most of them have been betrayed just because of the fact that the DSC, the whole process, has been riddled with irregularities: paper leaks, backdoor money transactions for the roles, for the postings, and the sports quotas have been abused. So, we have all the digitally documented proofs; even Jagan Mohan Reddy, our honourable leader, also put that out in the public. Yet, Nara Lokesh, with all his arrogance and with no sense of responsibility, has done nothing so far on this, and we don't see any objective counter on this."
"Taking moral responsibility, we demand Nara Lokesh resign as the Education Minister of our state. Lakhs of people are actually betrayed; lakhs of people are completely dismayed because this whole process has not happened transparently. And therefore, we demand that Nara Lokesh resign, and also an independent investigation should be started on this. We also request that CBI be involved, and we also demand a CBI investigation on the same, unlocking what has really happened in the DSC irregularities in our state," he further said.
In Vijayawada, a massive rally organised by the YSRCP Youth and Student Wings proceeded from Sambamurthy Nagar to Dharna Chowk, led by NTR District President Devineni Avinash, former Minister Vellampalli Srinivas, former MLA Malladi Vishnu, Monditoka Jagan Mohan Rao, Tanneru Nageswara Rao, Swamy Das, MLC Ruhullah, former Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi and Students Wing State Working President Ravichandra.
In Nellore, hundreds of students and youth marched from the BR Ambedkar statue to Gandhi Bomma Centre, demanding Lokesh's resignation and justice for unemployed youth. The protest was led by former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, former MLA Sanjeevaiah, Nedurumalli Ram Kumar Reddy and Anam Vijay Kumar Reddy.
In Tirupati, former Minister RK Roja addressed protesters, demanding Lokesh's resignation and a CBI inquiry into the alleged DSC irregularities. She alleged that the recruitment process was marred by paper leaks and irregular Sports Quota appointments, claimed over Rs 7,000 crore in fee reimbursement dues remain pending, criticised the government's failure to provide the promised unemployment allowance, and said the party's agitation would continue until accountability is fixed.
In Nandyal, YSRCP leaders, students and unemployed youth staged a protest rally demanding Lokesh's resignation over the alleged Mega DSC irregularities. The demonstrators condemned the reported question paper leak and raised objections over irregularities in Sports Quota recruitment. The protest was attended by Katasani Ram Bhupal Reddy, Rami Reddy and MLC Isaq Basha.
Meanwhile, Narasannapeta witnessed tense scenes after police blocked a proposed YSRCP Student-Youth Rally. Hundreds of students and youth from four mandals gathered under the leadership of Dharmana Krishna Chaitanya and were preparing to leave in a convoy of nearly 50 vehicles when a heavy police contingent prevented the rally from proceeding. Krishna Chaitanya demanded written reasons for the restrictions, while police cited prohibitory orders on large public rallies. YSRCP leaders condemned the police action as an attempt to suppress democratic protests.
"The statewide agitation is continuing, with more demonstrations expected from other districts," the party said. (ANI)
