New Delhi [India], Oct 16 (ANI): Indian fast bowler Shardul Thakur has been ruled out of the team's upcoming first two ODIs against West Indies due to a tendon injury.

Confirming the news, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that Thakur would be replaced by pacer Umesh Yadav in the squad.

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Umesh Yadav as Shardul Thakur's replacement in India's squad for the first two ODIs against Windies. Mr Thakur suffered a right adductor tendon injury and has been ruled out of the ODI series," the BCCI said in a statement.

Indian are slated to play a five-match ODI series against West Indies from October 21 to November 1.
