Ludhiana (Punjab) [India], Oct 14 (ANI): A 12-year-old boy succumbed to the injuries he sustained when a pressure pump exploded in Ludhiana's Gayaspura area on Sunday.

The victim and four others were injured after a compressor pump exploded at a cycle repair shop in Peepal Chowk area of the vicinity.

Assistant sub-inspector of police, Balwinder Singh confirmed to ANI that the explosion was caused because of an overload of pressure in the air pump at the puncture shop. The victim, identified as Amit Yadav was closest to the pump when it exploded, thus sustaining the brunt of the damage.

Three other people, including the deceased's father, were injured in the accident.

Of four injured, two have been declared out of danger, while one is said to be in a critical condition. (ANI)
