New Delhi, Oct 16 (PTI) A man was arrested from near Ishaeheri village here for allegedly smuggling illicit liquor, police said Tuesday.

The accused, Vinay, a resident of Nangloi, was arrested Thursday, they said.

Police said at the MCD Toll No 5 near the village, a Mahindra Bolero pick-up van, coming from the Haryana side, was stopped.

During checking, 100 cartons of illegal liquor were seized. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said.

The accused has confessed that he used to supply illicit liquor in different parts of Delhi, he said. PTI NIT ****

Suspected auto-lifter, 2 proclaimed offenders arrested

New Delhi, Oct 16 (PTI) A suspected auto-lifter and two proclaimed offenders were arrested from Tilak Nagar and the Kirti Nagar area, respectively, police said Tuesday.

Ravinder Singh (33), a auto-lifter, was arrested Tuesday, they said.

He was held from near the Keshopur Subzi Mandi in Tilak Nagar around 3:30 am by a patrol team and a stolen motorcycle was recovered, Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), said.

In the other incident, on Monday, Ashok and Anwar, the proclaimed offenders, were arrested from the Kirti Nagar area, she said. PTI NIT *****

19-yr-old auto-lifter arrested

New Delhi, Oct 16 (PTI) A 19-year-old suspected auto-lifter, also an accused in cases of snatching, was arrested from central Delhi's Prasad Nagar area, police said Tuesday.

The accused, Rohit, a resident of Karol Bagh, Delhi, was arrested on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, they said.

During interrogation, Rohit said he along with his accomplices used to steal the two-wheelers for snatching purposes, Mandeep Singh Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), said.

Five two-wheelers and four mobile phones were recovered, he added.
