Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], Nov 23 (ANI): A Bhubaneswar-based artist, L Eswar Rao has created a three-and-a-half inch miniature of the men's Hockey World Cup trophy inside a glass bottle using stones.

"The (World Cup) trophy has been made up of stones. I joined seven stones. It took me seven days to make a three-and-a-half inch trophy miniature, of which it took me one entire day to place the hockey stick," Rao told ANI.

Hailing from Odisha's Jatni Village, Rao has been working as a miniature artist for the past 25 years.

When quizzed about his passion, Rao said that he wanted to use his talent as a medium to wish all the participating teams ahead of the prestigious event.

Talking about the time consumed to make another trophy on a pencil nib, Rao said, "Although I can make it in three hours, however, in order to achieve accuracy, it should be done patiently. So, it took me two days."

Previously, the Odisha based artist had made a three-and-a-half inch miniature of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel inside a glass bottle using soap on the occasion of the fourth National Unity Day, which is observed every year on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister of India.

The 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup is slated to be held from November 28 to December 16 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. (ANI)
