New Delhi, Sep 5 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday condoled the loss of lives in a boat accident in Assam.

He said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to the capsize of a boat near Guwahati in Assam.

"My thoughts are with the bereaved families. The state government is working actively on the rescue operations and ensuring all possible support on the ground," he tweeted.

Three persons drowned and at least 11 others are missing after an overloaded motorised country boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river near Guwahati after hitting a rock.
