Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], Dec 7 (ANI): Ahead of 2019 general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state of Odisha to attend a public rally in Khurda on December 24.

The visit is speculated to be the beginning of campaigning for the upcoming polls in the state as well as the Lok Sabha elections.

Talking to ANI, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Odisha in charge Arung Singh on Thursday said, "The Prime Minister will arrive in the state on December 24. He is expected to address public meetings and rallies in Khurda."

Further elaborating upon the number of seats that the party claims to win Singh asserted, "During a visit in Odisha, BJP president Amit Shah had set a targeted to win 120+ seats in the state."

Hitting out at the current government, the BJP leader alleged that the Naveen Patnaik-led government has made a fool of the people of the state.

"The ruling party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has made fool out of the citizens of Odisha in the last 19 years. In the next election, BJP will form the government here," Singh added.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, too, will undertake a visit to Odisha at the end of this month. (ANI)
