Aurangabad (Maharashtra) [India], July 24 (ANI): In the wake of the Maratha reservation stir, Aurangabad District Magistrate, Uday Choudhary, said that a report on the issue of reservation would be submitted soon to the state government.
"Maharashtra government has accepted most of the demands of Maratha Kranti Morcha and the report for the main demand for reservation will be sent to the government shortly," he told ANI.
With regards to the death of a youth earlier on Monday, Choudhary said the kin of the deceased would be given a compensation of Rs.10 lakh.
"We will provide immediate compensation of Rs.10 lakh to the family of the youth who drowned in the river. His brother will be offered a government job," he added.
On Monday, a youth jumped into the Godavari river amidst a 'Jal samadhi' agitation regarding reservations for Maratha community members.
As per the police, Kakasaheb Shinde, a resident of Kaygaon village in Aurangabad district, died due to drowning, after he jumped off a bridge. (ANI)
