Sports News | Sikandar Raza to Lead Zimbabwe in T20I Tri-series; Graeme Cremer Returns After Injury Layoff

Harare [Zimbabwe], August 24 (ANI): Veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza will lead Zimbabwe's 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series against hosts Namibia and South Africa, with experienced spinner Graeme Cremer returning to the national setup after recovering from injury.

According to the ICC, the tri-series will be played in Windhoek from August 28 to September 6, with the three teams set to face each other twice before the top two sides meet in the final.

Cremer returns after missing Zimbabwe's home series against Bangladesh and India while recovering from a left-arm injury. Pacer Kundai Matigimu, who has played one Test for Zimbabwe, has also been included in the squad.

Zimbabwe will, however, be without fast bowlers Richard Ngarava and Tanaka Chivanga due to injuries.

Ngarava is continuing his recovery from a lower-back problem, while Chivanga underwent surgery after suffering an Achilles tendon injury during a practice session. Both players will remain under the supervision of Zimbabwe Cricket's medical team during their rehabilitation.

The squad also includes Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Innocent Kaia, Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Newman Nyamhuri and Tafadzwa Tsiga.

Zimbabwe will begin their campaign against South Africa on August 29, before taking on Namibia on August 31. They will face South Africa again on September 1 and Namibia on September 3, with the reverse fixtures completing the league stage.

The final is scheduled for September 6.
