Amaravati, May 28 (PTI) The TDP tonight expelled senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu from the party for levelling 'baseless allegations' against the party leadership.

In a statement tonight, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu said Motkupalli was being expelled from the party for "indiscipline and levelling baseless allegations against the party leadership".

The action was based on a report submitted by the TDP's Telangana unit, he said.

Motkupalli, a former minister from Nalgonda district now in Telangana was sidelined from the TDP following his suggestion that the party's Telangana unit be merged with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti.

He reportedly criticised Chandrababu Naidu this morning after paying homage to TDP founder N T Rama Rao.

TDP Telangana president L Ramana said Naidu had sought a gubernatorial post for Motkupalli.

"We requested the BJP to appoint Motkupalli as Governor of a state but our plea was unheeded," Ramana told reporters here.

Only a few days ago, Naidu claimed he had not sought either a Governor's post or anything else from the BJP. PTI
