Washington D.C. [USA], July 24 (ANI): Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts will play Henry Ford 2 in James Mangold's yet-untitled directorial "Ford Vs Ferrari."

According to the Variety, the movie starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale is based on the true story of automotive visionary Carroll Shelby (played by Damon) and his British driver Ken Miles (played by Bale)--who are leading an eccentric and determined team of American engineers and designers.

The team, which is dispatched by Ford Motor Company chief Henry Ford 2 and Lee Lacocca on the Ford GT40 mission, built an automobile that could defeat Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans world championship.

Produced by Chernin Entertainment, the film will also see 'Outlander' star Caitriona Balfe playing Ken Miles' wife.

53-year-old Tracy Letts received the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play "August: Osage County" and a Tony Award for the revival of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

The untitled project is slated to release on June 28, 2019. (ANI)
