Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Nov 10 (ANI): An interstate arms smuggler was arrested with seven pistols by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force from Jhunsi, Prayagraj, on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Bhimshankar Pathak, a resident of Meja area in Prayagraj. Seven .32 bore pistol, 14 .32 bore magazine, and one mobile phone was recovered from his possession. Acting on a tip-off, a team of STF nabbed Pathak when he was waiting for a customer to deliver a pistol at Andava area in Jhunsi on Saturday evening. He used to purchase pistols from one Kailash Sardar of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh at a rate of Rs 9000 to Rs 10,000 per pistol and sell on a high margin to end customers.Pathak was earlier arrested by the STF with five illegal pistols in October 2017, according to an official release. A case under Section 3 read with Section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against the smuggler at Jhunsi police station. (ANI)
