Mahindra & Mahindra, a home grown SUV maker has officially confirmed that the company will be launching the next SUV for the domestic market on November 19. Internally codenamed as Y400, the upcoming product from Mahindra will be a luxurious and premium full-size SUV that will replace the current SsangYong Rexton in the product line-up. However, the company has not revealed the official production name of the SUV, which is slated to be launched next month. The new luxury SUV will be positioned above the new Mahindra XUV500. However, it will be retailed exclusively through separate dealership network, which will be called as World of SUVs. The new prime dealerships from Mahindra will redefine the customer experience with excellent sales as well as after sales. The new outlets will be equipped with ultra-modern digital technology for proffering enhanced and immersive high-end customer experience.
Moreover, the SUV will be built at Mahindra's facility in Chakan. Under the hood, the SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, which will be tuned to develop maximum power of 187hp and peak torque of 420Nm. The company is expected to launch the full-size premium SUV in a diesel iteration with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
