Triumph Motorcycles India will be introducing the latest offering in the Triumph modern classic family - 2019 Triumph Speed Twin in the country today. The bike manufacturer has already started taking bookings for the new motorcycle while the deliveries are expected to commence by next month. When launched, the 2019 Speed Twin will take on Ducati Scrambler 1100 in the Indian market. The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin employs the same chassis from Thruxton R. It also borrows the 1200cc parallel-twin engine from the latter as well. The unit is capable of making 96 bhp of maximum power with peak torque of 112 Nm and it comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The deceleration duties on the motorcycle are carried out by dual 305mm discs at the front with Brembo 4-piston calipers and a 220mm disc at the back.

The new Triumph Speed Twin derives it styling from the young sibling, 2019 Street Twin that flaunts retro-looking circular headlight with LED DRL, which is flanked by LED turn indicators on the either sides. The classic retro look of the new Triumph Speed Twin is accentuated by a twin-pod instrument cluster. The motorcycle gets a modern appeal from the components like drivertrain wheels and suspension that are blacked-out. The suspension duties are carried out by telescopic forks upfront and twin shocks at the back. As far as the electronics are concerned, the 2019 Triumph Speed Twin gets traction control, ride-by-wire throttle and dual-channel ABS along with three riding modes- Road, Rain and Sport.
