After launching new generation WagonR, Maruti Suzuki India is now gearing up to launch the facelifted version of Baleno premium hatchback. Ahead of its India launch, the car maker has officially commenced the bookings for the car with token amount of Rs 11,000. Also, the updated Baleno had been captured while doing rounds on the roads. The spy shot reveals that the new Baleno will get revised front fascia while the mechanicals will remain unchanged. Mechanically, the new Baleno facelift 2019 will be powered by the same powertrain options as seen on the predecessor. The petrol engine will be most popular 1.2-litre K-Series unit whereas the diesel unit will be 1.3-litre DDiS 190 oil burner. The former is tuned to make 83bhp of maximum power with peak torque of 115 Nm, while the latter will churn out 74 bhp and 190 Nm of power figures. Transmission duties will be taken care by 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT will also be on offer.

Moreover, the company will also be introducing the RS iteration of the new Baleno, which is expected to be more aggressive and stylish. The new Baleno will sport new grille with 3D graphic design, front bumper, LED projector headlamps, front fog lamps, alloy wheels and much more. Inside the cabin, the new Baleno will sport new refreshed dual-tone upholstery featuring black and blue interiors giving a premium appeal. The car will also come with SmartPlay infotainment system, refreshed interior ornamentation and much more.

As far as the safety is concerned, the new Baleno facelift will come with standard features such as dual airbags, child seat restraint system (ISOFIX), Pre-tensioner and force limiter seat belts and ABS with EBD. Additionally, the new Baleno will also get speed alert system, co-driver seat belt reminder and rear parking assist sensors. Once launched, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift 2019 will take on Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and upcoming Tata 45X.
